The Colombian reggaeton star gets his fourth Jordan model. The Air Jordan 4 x J Balvin "Amazonas" goes on sale on 2 October 2026 at 9:00 for £204.99, and the whole project is built around a single idea: yellow croc-textured leather standing in for the Amazon.
Below: the full details, the history of Balvin's work with Jordan Brand and how to get part of the amount back.
The name is not decoration. Amazonas is a Colombian department in the Amazon basin, and the whole shoe refers to the biodiversity of that region.
The material is the key detail. The yellow leather embossed to mimic crocodile hide references the yellow crocodiles living in the Amazon ecosystem. It is a rare case where the texture of a material is not simply an aesthetic move but carries the meaning.
Balvin builds his collaborations around Colombia consistently. Earlier models referenced his native Medellín and the country's palette; this one reaches for its wildlife.
Monochrome yellow across the whole build. Leather, mesh, TPU wings, laces and midsole all sit in the same tone, described on the product listing as Lemonade. That is unusual on a Jordan 4, where panels are normally set against each other.
Asymmetric dubraes. One shoe reads "JUST DO IT.", the other the Spanish "SOLO HAZLO". Bilingualism written into the shoe rather than into the campaign.
Double branding on the heels. The Jumpman sits alongside J Balvin's signature. One shoe carries the classic Nike Air, the other the upside-down smiley that is the artist's calling card.
Debossed details spread across the upper, visible only up close.
This is the most interesting context for the release, because Balvin has been working his way through the line model by model.
Air Jordan 1 High OG "Colores y Vibras", December 2020. Rainbow canvas panels, a jagged collar and sewn-on Swooshes. Balvin was at that point the first artist of Latin descent to receive a Jordan Brand collaboration.
Air Jordan 2, turn of 2021 into 2022. Cloud graphics on the heel, light blue ripstop and multicoloured stitching. The model revived interest in a silhouette that had lain dormant for years.
Jordan Super Play, a slide released alongside the 2, carrying the signature smiley.
Air Jordan 3 "Medellín Sunset", September 2023. A nod to the sunset over the artist's home city, with pre-aged detailing. For a long stretch it was regarded as his most coveted collaboration.
Air Jordan 3 "Rio", May 2024. A continuation of the 3 thread.
The 4 is the natural next step, and also the first where Balvin has committed to one material and one colour rather than multicoloured panelling.
£204.99.
The release lands on 2 October 2026 at 9:00 through SNKRS and selected retailers.
One thing has already happened and is worth knowing: early access ran on 28 September through the artist's own site, so part of the run went before the official date. That is standard practice on collaborations with musicians, and it means fewer pairs are in play on 2 October than the production scale would suggest.
SNKRS is the primary channel, but on a collaborative Jordan 4 it pays to have several tabs open. Going into a store through Soleback adds cashback to every order, and on a shoe past the £200 mark that is a meaningful amount.
Current rates sit in the store list, and live campaigns in the offers section. The browser extension helps by reminding you to activate it, and new accounts get a welcome bonus.
Set the accounts up a day early with shipping and payment details saved. On a 9:00 release, seconds count.
Go through Soleback before you start shopping, not after the shoe is in the basket.
Decide on a size in advance. The middle of the scale goes first.
Enter the draws at several retailers. Plenty of European boutiques allocate pairs by raffle rather than queue, and entering costs nothing.
Switch off your ad blocker and accept cookies, because that is the most common cause of unattributed transactions.

The fourth Air Jordan silhouette, after the 1, 2 and 3. The Jordan Super Play slide came on top of those.
Collaborations with musicians do not go on sale, so the only real saving is cashback on a purchase at list price.
Amazonas is Balvin's most restrained collaboration with Jordan Brand and at the same time his boldest on materials. Instead of the multicoloured panelling of the 1 and the 2, there is a single colour across the whole build and a texture that carries meaning.
