Beauty advent calendars 2026: 14 launches, prices, dates and where to buy
Why it pays to follow the launches
The advent calendar stopped being a November product some time ago. The most wanted editions go on sale in late August, and waiting lists open earlier still. Anyone who leaves it until December is choosing from what nobody else wanted.
The reason is simple: the runs are limited and counted in advance. Brands produce a fixed number and do not reprint in December. Space NK sold through its 2025 edition in record time, and the Charlotte Tilbury calendar routinely disappears within days of launch.
The second reason is arithmetic. The stated contents value is often three times the price, and on some sets five times. Lookfantastic costs £120 against £665 of contents. That is not marketing spin but the way brands distribute samples: it is cheaper to sell you a miniature inside a set than to hope you buy the full size blind.
Which brings the third and most practical reason. A calendar is the cheapest way to test a dozen or more products before spending three figures on a single one. At £60 for a serum, one miniature that lands can justify the entire box.
The heavy hitters
Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Advent Calendar 2026
Price: £170. Launch: 10 September. Waiting list open.
The loudest calendar of the season and the only one whose unboxing routinely pulls millions of views on TikTok. Inside are twelve products: nine makeup, four skincare, a limited-edition gua sha and a Pillow Talk makeup bag.
The spoilers list a full-size Matte Revolution lipstick in Pillow Talk Medium worth £29.50, Magic Cream 15ml worth £28 and Magic Serum Crystal Elixir 10ml worth £27.
One thing to know: this is a twelve-day calendar, not a twenty-four. Many buyers open it from Christmas Day, following the twelve days of Christmas rather than counting down to them.
Lookfantastic Beauty Advent Calendar
Price: £120. Contents worth: £665. 27 products.
The strongest price-to-contents ratio in the whole field, with a saving north of £500. A mix of household names and indie brands, full sizes alongside travel sizes.
If you want one calendar that simply gives you the most, this is it.
Sephora Favorites 2026
Price: not yet announced. Waiting list open.
Sephora's prestige calendar, built from third-party brands rather than its own line. This year's edition is billed at 41 products, 27 of them full size, with total contents worth over £1,000.
Previous years have carried Sol de Janeiro, Rare Beauty and Huda Beauty, which is precisely why it sells out.
Space NK Advent Calendar
The 2025 edition sold out in record time.
This year's contents include Charlotte Tilbury, Hourglass, Augustinus Bader and K18. Consistently one of the best-curated calendars on the market and one of the fastest to go.
Fragrance
Lookfantastic Fragrance Advent Calendar
Price: £150. Contents worth: over £530.
Givenchy, Jo Malone, Rabanne, Carolina Herrera, YSL, Armani, Marc Jacobs, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Balmain and Molton Brown, across fragrance, room scents and accessories.
Jo Malone London
Launch: 1 September for Lookfantastic subscribers, 2 September for everyone else.
Colognes and candles in sizes from 9ml to 30ml. A luxury proposition that goes quickly.
Diptyque
Price: around £370.
The most expensive entry here and a gift rather than a testing exercise. Buy it for someone who already knows they like Diptyque.
Value picks
Marks & Spencer Beauty Advent Calendar
Launch: 13 October. Sparks members get early access from 1 to 7 October.
More full-size products than in previous years, with Estée Lauder, Clinique and Color Wow. Historically one of the best value-per-pound calendars on the high street, and the Sparks window is worth using.
ASOS Advent Calendar 2026
25 products across Face and Body, 15 of them full size.
A genuinely strong brand list rather than filler: Charlotte Tilbury, BIODANCE and Gisou among them.
Sephora Collection Advent Calendar
24 surprises, 12 of them full size, with one limited-edition product behind the 24th door.
Sephora's own-brand calendar and the budget end of its range. Makeup, skincare, bath products and beauty tools, at roughly a third of the contents value.
Lush
Bath and body, bath bombs included. Available in Lush's own stores as well as online, so worth checking locally before ordering.
The department stores
Liberty London, Harrods, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols all run their own calendars, and these sit at the top of the market on both price and curation. Liberty remains the editors' pick year after year.
They are also the calendars most likely to appear in "sold out" headlines by early November, so a waiting list sign-up is worth the thirty seconds.
What is still to come
The list above covers what already has confirmed prices and dates. A few categories are still ahead.
High-street chemists announce later. Boots and Superdrug typically reveal in September and October rather than August. This is also the cheapest end of the market, so if you would rather not spend three figures, waiting makes sense.
Food and drink calendars come last. Chocolate, whisky and gin calendars usually arrive in October and November, because they carry shorter shelf lives and a different sales rhythm. No rush is needed here, since runs are larger and sell-outs rarer.
Toys run to their own timetable. LEGO advent calendars go on sale from 1 September in limited quantities, so those are worth securing early.
When to buy
Launches come in waves from late August through October.
Already available: Sephora, Revolution and Lookfantastic. September: Charlotte Tilbury on the 10th, plus Jo Malone. October: the department stores and Marks & Spencer on the 13th.
The rule that matters: the calendars that sell out every year are gone by early November. If Charlotte Tilbury or Space NK is on your list, join the waiting list now rather than in December.
FAQ
Which calendar offers the best value?
Lookfantastic Beauty at £120 for £665 of contents, a saving of more than £500 across 27 items.
Are beauty advent calendars actually worth it?
At three times the contents value, yes, provided you use most of what is inside. If half the contents do not suit you, the maths looks different.
When do the most popular calendars sell out?
The most sought-after go by early November, and some within days of launch.
How many full-size products should I look for?
The more the better, since miniatures last days rather than weeks. Sephora Favorites offers 27 full sizes out of 41, ASOS 15 out of 25.
Is the Charlotte Tilbury calendar 24 days?
No, twelve. Many buyers open it from Christmas Day rather than counting down to it.
What to choose
If this is your first calendar, take Lookfantastic. The best ratio on the market and enough variety to find something you will repurchase.
If it is a gift, Charlotte Tilbury is the safest bet, because the packaging does half the work and the brand carries recognition.
If you are after a specific brand, join the waiting list today. On Charlotte Tilbury and Space NK it is the only reliable way to hear about the launch before it sells out.
