Selfridges delivers across the UK, offers free Click & Collect at all four of its stores and accepts free returns, but the rules have more catches than the headline offer suggests. Standard delivery costs £6.95, Next Day £9.95, and free delivery starts at £150. All figures below were read on the official selfridges.com pages on 12 October 2026.
The most useful finding first: Selfridges+ costs £10 a year, only 5p more than a single Next Day delivery. If you order from Selfridges twice a year or more, or need even one Next Day parcel, the subscription pays for itself almost immediately. You can browse Selfridges via Soleback and earn cashback on the order.
Selfridges is a luxury department store with four UK stores: London Oxford Street, Birmingham, Manchester Exchange Square and Manchester Trafford. Online it sells fashion, beauty, home, food and a large trainer range from brands such as Nike, adidas, New Balance, ASICS, Salomon, On and Veja.
Two things matter for delivery. First, some products are shipped directly by suppliers rather than from the Selfridges warehouse, so delivery prices and options can differ for those items. If an order contains items from several suppliers, they arrive separately, but you pay a single delivery charge. Second, on 12 October 2026 the UK delivery page warned that some services were temporarily limited while warehouse systems were being upgraded, so orders may take longer than usual. We found no media coverage of a wider disruption.
Yes. Selfridges delivers to UK addresses Monday to Friday as standard, with paid upgrades for timed and weekend slots. It does not deliver to BFPO addresses. If you live in the Scottish Highlands, the Western Isles, Shetland, Orkney, the Isle of Wight or the Isle of Man, allow an extra five days for Standard Delivery. Fresh food hampers cannot be sent to those areas at all, and such orders are cancelled.
Selfridges free delivery starts at £150 for UK orders. The condition that most guides skip is membership. According to the Selfridges Unlocked page, Keyholders on Levels 1 to 3 get complimentary UK delivery on online orders over £150, while VSP and VVSP members get free delivery on every order. Unlocked is free to join (Selfridges told Retail Gazette in 2025 that everyone is welcome to become a Keyholder), so the practical advice is simple: join before you place an order over £150.
UK delivery prices on 12 October 2026:
Remember that multi-supplier orders carry only one delivery charge.
Selfridges warns that deliveries can slow down during busy periods such as Sale and in bad weather. A practical consequence: an order placed on Friday night with Standard Delivery will not move until Monday, because standard deliveries only run on weekdays.
DPD handles all UK parcels. That means you can track and reschedule through the DPD app, and every delivery comes with the usual DPD options: another date, delivery to a neighbour, a safe place, or an upgrade to a slot before 10.30am, before midday, in the afternoon, or at the weekend. Items shipped directly by suppliers may use a different service.
The fastest options are UK Next Day for £9.95 and Timed delivery for £10.95, both with a 10pm cut-off. Weekend delivery is not a standard option at checkout. You get it as a DPD upgrade to a Saturday or Sunday slot once your parcel is on its way.
With Selfridges+ UK (£10 a year), unlimited Next Day, Standard, Nominated and Timed deliveries are included. The catch: at peak times, deliveries under Selfridges+ may be limited to Standard Delivery.
The Selfridges delivery page does not mention parcel lockers. The closest option is Local collection for £6.95, which sends the parcel to a secure location near you with the same timing as Standard Delivery. If you want to collect without paying, use free Click & Collect at a store.
Click & Collect is free and available at all four stores, seven days a week:
Order by 10pm and nearly all orders are ready from noon the next day. You can also choose a collection date up to 14 days ahead. Orders are held for 7 days; after that they are sent back and refunded. In London you get 30 minutes of free parking when collecting.
One rule catches people out: if you pay with Klarna or PayPal, you must collect the order yourself. Apple Pay is listed among the payment methods that let someone else collect on your behalf.
Oxford Street becomes traffic-free between Orchard Street and Great Portland Street from Monday 26 October 2026, with works continuing into 2027 (reported by FashionUnited). Selfridges has not said how this affects car access to the London Click & Collect point, so check your route before driving in.
There is no public free delivery code. The two working ways to avoid delivery charges are:
According to the Selfridges+ terms dated 2 December 2025, the subscription runs for 12 months and does not renew automatically. It can be refunded within 30 days if you have not used any deliveries, and only by contacting Customer Services. It cannot be bought as a gift, and some brands are excluded, including Tumi, Bang & Olufsen and Astley Clarke, as well as flowers and hampers.
UK parcels are tracked through DPD. The DPD app lets you follow the parcel and change the date or delivery option. Items shipped by suppliers may arrive with separate tracking.
With DPD you can choose another date, a neighbour or a safe place before or after a missed delivery. For Click & Collect, the deadline is firm: orders not collected within 7 days are returned and refunded.
Selfridges does not publish a list of reasons. This is our inference from the official pages:
Selfridges does not say whether the £150 threshold is calculated before or after promotional discounts. This is not confirmed, so if your basket is close to £150 after a discount, check the delivery line in the basket before paying.
Selfridges does not run a permanent public discount code. Its terms state that it may offer additional discounts from time to time, that these cannot be combined with any other coupon or promotion, and that incorrect codes will not be honoured. Voucher site Woman&Home says there is currently no first-order code. Treat codes from aggregator sites with caution.
What does work instead are on-site offers. On 12 October 2026 the Selfridges menus showed, among others:
These offers change frequently. For current deals from Selfridges and other partner shops, see Soleback promotions.
We could not confirm a Selfridges student discount. The Student Beans page for Selfridges listed only general sale deals, not a student-only offer, on 12 October 2026. If you see a student code elsewhere, check that it comes from Selfridges or a recognised student platform.
There is no Selfridges NHS discount on the official pages. Blue Light Card lists 3.5% off Selfridges gift cards on its own site. Note a possible tension: Selfridges' terms say gift cards bought through any other reseller are not valid. Whether Blue Light Card counts as an authorised channel is not confirmed, so ask Blue Light Card before buying.
We could not confirm a sign-up discount for the Selfridges newsletter. MoneySavingExpert only mentions exclusive offers for email subscribers, without a figure. The newsletter is worth having for sale start dates and early access, not for a guaranteed code.
Selfridges Unlocked launched in July 2023 and was revamped into tiers in 2025. Members are called Keyholders and use a digital Key in the app, in Apple Wallet and online. You earn one key for every £50 you spend, plus keys for checking in at selected restaurants, events and venues.
In numbers, if you earn keys only by spending: Level 3 needs 100 keys, which is about £5,000, and VSP needs 200 keys, about £10,000. Retail Systems reported the same £10,000 annual figure for VSP in February 2025. The official page does not say how long keys last or over what period tiers are assessed.
There is no birthday discount code. The birthday reward is a gift, not a percentage off, and it is only listed for Level 3, VSP and VVSP Keyholders. Levels 1 and 2 do not get one.
Selfridges runs two main sales: a summer sale from around mid to late June and a winter sale from around Boxing Day. UK media have repeatedly described discounts of up to 50%. Exact dates for the 2026 winter sale are not confirmed by Selfridges or reputable UK media. On 12 October 2026 the sale section was live as "Seasonal reductions", without a headline percentage.
Note for in-store shoppers: reduced or sale items bought in store can only be returned within 14 days for an exchange or a gift card, not a refund.
Sources disagree. Woman&Home says Selfridges did not take part in Black Friday in 2022, and an older Estates Gazette report quotes a spokesman saying the store would stick with the traditional British Boxing Day sale. However, Grazia reported Selfridges fashion deals running through Cyber Monday on 1 December 2025, including up to 30% off Skims. Our reading: Selfridges does not run a store-wide Black Friday sale, but individual brand offers do appear in late November. Plans for 2026 are not confirmed.
Gift cards come as a physical card or an e-gift card from £10 to £1,000. E-gift cards arrive within the hour or on a chosen date, and a gift box costs £5. The detail most people miss: gift cards bought on or after 1 October 2025 expire two years after purchase, while cards bought earlier have no expiry. E-vouchers can only be used online and only once, and you can use up to 5 cards per online order.
Selfridges sells over 1,300 lace-up trainers in the men's section alone. Prices read on the product pages on 12 October 2026, all at full price:
Browse the full ranges in men's trainers and women's trainers. Two pairs of adidas Handball Spezial at £89.99 come to £179.98, which already crosses the £150 free delivery threshold for Unlocked members.
Returns are free. The process:
Return methods depend on order value:
Counter-intuitive point: orders under £101 cannot be collected from your home. You have to drop them at a Post Office or return them in store. For a full refund, items must be new, unused, with all labels and tags, in their original packaging.
Exchanges are only possible in store at Click & Collect, not by courier or post.
These online orders cannot be returned in store:
Selfridges refunds within five days of receiving your return, but some payment providers take up to 14 days to credit your account.
If you paid with PayPal and want your money back, return by post, not in store.
Store purchases can be returned to any of the four stores within 14 days of purchase. Full-price items get a full refund if they are new, unused and in original packaging with tags. Sale items bought in store are exchange or gift card only. Fine jewellery and watches bought at the Wonder Room on Oxford Street can only be returned in store, for an exchange or a credit note.
The list is longer than at most fashion retailers. Not returnable:
If you received a free promotional gift, it must go back with the related items. With promotions, the discount is spread across all items in the basket, and you get back only what you actually paid for the returned item. Some technology and furniture brands have their own returns policies. Selfridges does not publish footwear-specific rules, so treat trainers like any other item: try them indoors and keep the box and tags.
If an item is damaged or of poor quality, Selfridges asks you to call Customer Services rather than use the standard returns form. Specific time limits for faulty goods were not shown on the pages we could read.
The Selfridges terms list Maestro, Mastercard, Visa, Visa Debit, Amex, Solo, Electron, PayPal, Alipay, gift cards and e-vouchers. Klarna is mentioned in the terms and on the Click & Collect and refunds pages, and Clearpay confirms on its own site that you can pay with it at Selfridges. Apple Pay appears on the Click & Collect page but not in the terms list. A Selfridges store card or credit account is not confirmed.
Before choosing Klarna, remember the two restrictions above: you must collect Click & Collect orders yourself, and you cannot return the order in store.
Selfridges is controlled by Thailand's Central Group, which holds 60%, with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund holding 40% since a deal completed in December 2024. Central Group became the majority owner after its former partner Signa went insolvent in November 2023. In the year to 3 January 2026, Selfridges reported revenue of £830.8 million, up 7%, and a pre-tax profit of £13 million, according to FashionUnited.
