Air Jordan 4 Retro Toro Bravo

Toro Bravo is one of the few Jordan 4 colourways people identify from across a room. The all-over red suede does most of the work — a saturated, single-tone upper offset by black detailing on the wings, eyelets and heel tab, which is exactly why it reads as loudly as it does.

The build underneath is unchanged from Tinker Hatfield's 1989 original: the mesh side panels, the plastic wing eyelets, the moulded heel and the visible Air unit that made the 4 a structural departure from anything before it. Little about the model has needed revising in three and a half decades.
