Nike Cortez — Women's, Green

The Cortez was Nike's first real shoe — Bill Bowerman's 1972 running design, released the year the company took its name, and the model that established the Swoosh as something people recognised on the street rather than just on a track.

Everything about it is flat and simple by modern standards: a slim leather upper, a thin foam wedge, a herringbone sole, and the Swoosh running the full length of the side panel. That simplicity is exactly why it still works. It sits low, takes up no visual space, and pairs with almost anything.

Green keeps it out of the default white-and-red territory most Cortez colourways occupy.
