The iPhone Duo costs from £1,999 and pre-orders open on 16 October at 1pm. We checked which UK retailers and networks are ready, who has prices, and which sites to watch on launch day.
Soleback Team
The iPhone Duo, Apple's first foldable iPhone, arrives in the UK in the first wave. Pre-orders open on Friday 16 October 2026 at 1:00 pm UK time, and the phone goes on sale on Friday 23 October. On apple.com/uk the 256GB model costs £1,999 and the top 2TB model £3,199. This guide answers one question: where to buy iPhone Duo in the UK. We checked which retailers already have product pages, which networks have confirmed pre-orders, who only offers "Register your interest", and which tabs you should have open at 12:55 pm on Friday.
The most useful finding first: at launch the iPhone Duo costs the same everywhere a price is visible. Apple shows £1,999 / £2,199 / £2,599 / £3,199, and every UK outlet we found that shows any price (the trade press and a single unverified retailer listing) repeats exactly those figures. You will not win on price. You win on speed: who accepts your order first, who gets stock for launch day, who offers pickup, and who has the better finance terms. All prices in this article were read on 13 October 2026.
One more thing to say plainly before we start: no Soleback partner sells the iPhone Duo in the UK yet. Soleback has no partner agreements with Currys, Argos, John Lewis or AO, and Joybuy UK, which is a Soleback partner, had no iPhone Duo product page we could find on 13 October 2026. That is why this article contains no affiliate links to the phone.
The iPhone Duo is a book-style foldable. Closed, you use a 5.4-inch outer screen; open, a 7.6-inch inner screen. According to Apple's UK specifications page:
The Apple UK buy page also shows a "+more" label next to the colour swatches without explaining it. We saw only Night Sky and Star White, so treat any third colour as unconfirmed.
Prices from the Apple Store online (apple.com/uk), including VAT, read on 13 October 2026:
The monthly figures are Apple's own finance offer over 30 months at 0% APR. Multiply them out and you land within a few pence of the cash price (30 times £66.63 is £1,998.90), which is what you would expect from interest-free finance with rounding.
Price does not depend on colour. The step from 256GB to 512GB costs £200, from 512GB to 1TB £400, and from 1TB to 2TB £600. The steps get steeper as you go up, so 512GB is the sensible middle ground for most people, because you cannot add a memory card to an iPhone.
The video spec matters here. 4K at 120 fps eats storage fast, so 256GB is mainly for people who keep photos and videos in the cloud. The 2TB model really only makes sense if you shoot a lot of professional video away from a computer. This is an inference from the specs, not a test result.
A second practical point: with a phone in short supply, the most popular tiers (256GB and 512GB) are likely to go first. If on Friday you see a long delivery date for your chosen tier, check the other colour in the same capacity before you jump to a pricier model. Again, this is an inference, not a fact.
The trade press agrees with Apple. Expert Reviews, Mobile News and PC Guide all quote the same four prices, and Mobile News also gives £66.63 a month over 30 months.
The 1:00 pm time is UK time (BST). PC Guide also gives 1pm BST. The clocks go back on the night of 24 to 25 October, so all launch times still fall in summer time and you do not need to convert anything.
For once the UK picture is clear. Apple's press release names 18 first-wave countries, and the UK is one of them. The apple.com/uk product page confirms pre-orders from 1:00 pm on 16 October and availability on 23 October "at apple.com/uk and from selected network providers and retailers, subject to stock".
Two smaller contradictions are worth knowing about:
Note the phrase "subject to stock" on Apple's own page. Apple itself does not promise that everyone who orders on Friday gets a phone on 23 October.
Everything we have read points to tight supply at launch:
The practical conclusion: if you want the phone on 23 October, order on 16 October in the first minutes. If you order later, the only reliable delivery estimate is the one in your basket.
Status on 13 October 2026, ordered by how solid the information is:
How to read the statuses you will see before 16 October:
None of these statuses tells you how many units a shop will get. Neither Apple nor any retailer discloses that.
We cover each channel below.
Apple's own store is the one place certain to have stock on launch day, and the only one that shows a real delivery estimate in the basket. The buy page lists free delivery or pickup from an Apple Store. It did not show delivery dates on 13 October, which is normal before pre-orders open.
What you get from Apple, according to its UK pages:
Pickup is the counter-intuitive tip here. With a Friday launch, a missed delivery on 23 October usually means the next delivery day is Monday 26 October, because many couriers do not deliver at weekends. That is an inference, not a promise from Apple. A pickup slot in a store near you can be the faster route, so check pickup availability for the stores near you as well as home delivery when you order.
Apple UK offers Trade In on the iPhone Duo buy page. What we could confirm on 13 October 2026:
Trade In does not speed up your order, and the credit arrives after Apple has checked your old phone. Do not count on it to cover the full launch-day payment.
Apple's own finance (0% APR, 30 months) is the cleanest benchmark for comparing any retailer or network offer. If a monthly figure elsewhere looks lower, check the term and the interest rate before you assume it is cheaper.
Currys has an iPhone Duo page with "Pre-order from Friday 16th October", a "Coming soon" label and a "Register your interest" button. The page shows the colours, but no price on 13 October 2026, so the Currys price is not confirmed. Given that every visible price so far matches Apple's, it would be surprising if Currys differed at launch, but that is an inference, not a fact.
Carphone Warehouse is now part of Currys. We found no separate Carphone Warehouse iPhone Duo page, so if you used to buy phones there, Currys is where to look.
Currys is not a Soleback partner, so we mention it by name only. If you want to buy there, register your interest now and be logged in before 1:00 pm on Friday.
According to Which? (24 September 2026), John Lewis will take online pre-orders from 1pm on 16 October. On 13 October we did not find a John Lewis iPhone Duo product page, and the price is not confirmed.
John Lewis is a familiar choice for people who value its customer service, but for a phone in short supply what matters is whether its page goes live on time and how many units it has. We could not confirm either. John Lewis is not a Soleback partner.
PC Guide lists Amazon.co.uk and Joybuy UK among the places to buy the iPhone Duo in the UK. We did not find a product page on either site on 13 October 2026, so neither is confirmed.
Joybuy UK is a Soleback partner. If it does list the iPhone Duo, we will be able to point you to it, but today there is nothing to link to.
On Amazon, be careful once listings appear. With a scarce product, a marketplace quickly fills with two kinds of offers: the retailer itself at the official price, and third-party sellers adding a mark-up. Kuo's forecast of resale prices 50 to 100% above retail is exactly about this market. Check who the seller is, that the phone is new and unactivated, and that the price does not exceed £1,999 for 256GB.
Argos, AO, Very, eBuyer and Selfridges: we found no iPhone Duo offer from any of them on 13 October 2026. "Not confirmed" does not mean they will not sell it. It only means we did not see an offer. Since Apple says the phone will be sold by "selected network providers and retailers", some of these may go live on 16 October. This is an inference.
We found a page at harveynorman.co.uk for the iPhone Duo 5G 2TB in Night Sky at £3,199 with the label "AVAILABLE SOON" and "from £78.63 per month". Two things stop us from recommending it:
The cash price matches Apple, which is exactly what a convincing copy would do. We present this as an unverified listing, not a recommended shop. If you are tempted, do not pay until you have confirmed the company behind the site, and never pay by bank transfer to an unfamiliar retailer.
Three networks have confirmed launch dates:
None of the three had published tariffs on 13 October 2026. When they do, compare the total cost over the contract, not the monthly figure: a low monthly price with a large upfront payment or a 36-month term can easily cost more than Apple's £1,999 plus a SIM-only plan. That comparison is general advice, not a calculation, because we have no network prices yet.
A network contract and the phone itself are separate things. If you buy from Apple and return the phone, that does not end a separate airtime contract, and the reverse is also true. Check the network's own returns rules before you sign.
Three: a Three media release about the iPhone Duo appeared in search results, but the page would not load when we tried. We cannot confirm Three's dates or prices.
EE is where the sources contradict each other:
We report this rather than pick a side. If EE is your network and you want the phone on day one, the safer plan is to buy the phone from Apple on 16 October and keep your EE plan, or check EE's site on 16 October to see whether pre-orders appear after all. EE prices are not confirmed.
We found no confirmed iPhone Duo offer from giffgaff or iD Mobile on 13 October 2026.
If your network does not sell the phone, you lose nothing on hardware. The iPhone Duo is the same device wherever you buy it. Buying the phone outright from Apple (or on Apple's 0% finance) and pairing it with a SIM-only plan from any network that supports eSIM is often the most flexible option. Just check that your network supports eSIM, because the iPhone Duo has no physical SIM tray.
Here is a counter-intuitive one. On 13 October 2026, Uswitch's iPhone Duo deals page showed 0 deals and every option as "Sold out". The page had last been updated on 9 September 2026.
That is a placeholder, not real stock data. Nobody can have sold out of a phone that cannot be ordered until 16 October. Comparison sites only become useful once networks publish their tariffs. Until then, a "Sold out" label tells you nothing about how hard the phone will be to get.
The iPhone Duo has no SIM tray in any country, including the UK. It supports two active eSIMs. In practice:
The easiest route is transferring your eSIM from your old iPhone during setup. If you are moving from Android or from a physical SIM, sort the eSIM out before 23 October so you are not left without a number on delivery day. We did not check whether UK networks charge for an eSIM swap, so ask yours.
The less obvious consequence: buying on a network contract does not get you a different version of the phone. An iPhone Duo from Apple, Currys or Vodafone is the same handset. Only the payment terms and returns rules differ.
We did not confirm UK prices for Apple's iPhone Duo cases or other accessories, and we did not confirm the UK price of AppleCare for the iPhone Duo. Check both in the Apple basket before you order.
What we do know from background sources:
For a phone costing £1,999 or more with a moving hinge, the price of screen and hinge repair matters. Apple publishes no fold-cycle rating. We would check the AppleCare price and the deadline for adding it after purchase before deciding to skip it.
There are no full reviews yet, only first impressions. The same points come up repeatedly:
Fake "iPhone Duo pre-order" sites have already been reported in other countries. Before 1:00 pm on 16 October 2026 nobody in the UK takes legitimate paid orders; registering your interest is the most a real retailer offers. Warning signs:
The Harvey Norman listing above is a borderline case: the price matches Apple, but we could not verify the shop. When in doubt, buy from Apple, a major high street retailer or your network.
At launch, price is not where retailers compete, so in practice the "best deal" means the earliest delivery date and the best finance terms. Sites worth watching:
Do not expect discounts on launch day. This is an inference from how scarce products sell: when production is limited and orders are filled in sequence, no retailer has a reason to cut the price until stock settles. For current deals from Soleback partners on other products, see the Soleback offers page, and the Soleback browser extension shows cashback when you shop at partner stores. If you have questions about how cashback works, the Soleback help centre explains it.
There is no good reason to. The UK is in the first wave on the same dates as France and Germany, and the iPhone Duo is eSIM only everywhere, so there is no "better" version in another country. Buy it in an EU country and Apple accepts returns only in the country of purchase, which means a 14-day return becomes a trip abroad. Buying in the UK keeps returns, repairs and consumer rights at home.
Buying abroad only makes sense if you happen to be there on launch day and cannot get a UK delivery in reasonable time.
