We checked UK prices in pounds on 9 October 2026, plus refunds, payments and customer reviews.

Kinguin is a marketplace, which means independent sellers list the keys, prepaid cards and top-ups, while the shop takes your payment and handles disputes. Most of what you need to know follows from that one fact: the price depends on the specific offer, and who you buy from is your decision. We checked the official help centre, the UK product pages priced in pounds, customer reviews and independent write-ups. We read the prices on 9 October 2026, and where we could not confirm something, we say so plainly.
On the homepage Kinguin sells game keys, prepaid cards, game and subscription top-ups, in-game items, software and pre-orders. For a single title you see several offers from different sellers, with different prices, regions and delivery methods. Kinguin takes the payment, keeps a commission and passes the rest to the seller once the order is fulfilled (Digital Citizen, a blog, medium reliability).
In practice, the seller's rating matters as much as the price. Kinguin also splits dispute handling into stages: first you report to the seller, and only after a while can you escalate to the shop's support. We describe this below in the section on the Resolution Center.
A CD key is an activation key: a string of letters and numbers that you redeem on a platform such as Steam, Epic or the Xbox app to add a game or licence to your account. Nothing is posted to you. On Kinguin the key is delivered digitally, usually as a link in an email or in your order history, and you “claim” it (reveal it) from your account.
Two things are worth knowing. First, a CD key is tied to a platform and often to a region, so check both in the offer title before paying. Second, once you reveal the key, the refund rules change (see the section on refunds). Treat the reveal as the point of no easy return and reveal it when you are ready to activate.
The About page names the operator as Kinguin Digital Limited, based in Hong Kong. The help centre also gives a postal address in Warsaw. The marketplace is said to have launched in 2013, but sources disagree here (see the section on conflicting sources).
The scale is hard to verify. On Trustpilot the company itself writes about roughly 15 million fans, while an independent wiki site gives more than 150 thousand products and more than 17 million accounts. We found none of those figures in an official report, so treat them as claims rather than measured facts.
Reading from 9 October 2026: a rating of 4.6 out of 5, of which 79% are five stars, 7% four, 2% three, 1% two and 11% one. The number of reviews depends on the domain, and the UK domain shows 121,974 reviews. It is one shared profile rather than separate country scores. The company says, on its profile, that it replies to 99% of negative reviews within about 24 hours.
Be careful how you read it. The profile is paid for and managed by the company, and the result is polarised: buyers either praise fast delivery and low prices, or complain about unexpected service fees at checkout, support for keys that were already activated and refund disputes. This is our conclusion: if you buy cheaply from a well-rated seller you will most often get what you ordered, but when something goes wrong, the road to your money can be long.
We read the prices on 9 October 2026 on the product pages with the currency set to pounds. Kinguin may show a different currency by default, so choose pounds in the currency selector. The amounts are the featured offer at the time and move with sellers' offers.
KING's Pass members see a lower price on the page, usually a few per cent. For the £50 Steam card it was £61.32 instead of £63.87, for the PlayStation card £18.75 instead of £19.53 and for Windows 11 Pro OEM £19.36 instead of £22.00.
The Steam gift card is the product buyers ask about most, and it is where we saw the least obvious prices. The £20 card cost £21.20, which is £1.20 above its value. The £50 card cost £63.87, which is more than 27% above its value. We did not check a £100 card, so we give no price for it.
Our explanation, marked as a conclusion and not a fact: the featured offer is not necessarily the cheapest, and with prepaid cards sellers add a margin for convenience and instant delivery. Before you buy, check the list of other offers under the product and compare with the official Steam store. A Steam card has to match the currency of your Steam account, so for pounds you need a UK card on an account set to pounds.
When buying a PlayStation gift card, check the face value in pounds and the region in the offer title. The PlayStation Network £20 UK card cost £19.53, which is slightly below face value, and KING's Pass members saw £18.75. That is a very different picture from Steam. A price below face value is unusual enough that we would check the seller rating and the region before paying.
We did not read a price for a pound-denominated Xbox gift card, so we do not give one. Whichever card you pick, check that its region matches your platform account, because a code from another region may be rejected at activation.
One month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for the UK cost £13.35, and another offer was £13.91. We have no reference price for the UK listing, so we make no claim about a discount. Check the offer title for restrictions such as a limit on stacking with an existing subscription. We did not find a definition of such labels in the help centre, so read the description of the specific offer before you buy.
Kinguin sells Roblox cards (for example 100 Robux for £1.61) and top-ups directly to your account. For in-game currency top-ups you give a Player ID or User ID, not your login and password. The help centre rule is simple: never give your game login and password, a nickname and server are enough.
If you want to buy Robux, compare the price per unit and not per offer: 100 Robux for £1.61 does not mean a bigger pack will be proportionally cheaper. If a seller does not deliver, report it through the Resolution Center. Customer reviews suggest that sellers of in-game items can take longer to fulfil orders than sellers of cards and keys.
The £2.63 offer is Discord Nitro Basic for a month, the lower tier and not full Nitro. When you compare prices with other shops, make sure you compare the same tier. KING's Pass members saw £2.52.
On the homepage we also saw offers that only work on new accounts. One example was a three-month gift marked as requiring an account at least a month old. The offer title carries such restrictions, so read it in full before you pay for Discord Nitro.
The Nintendo eShop £15 UK card cost £15.72, which is £0.72 above face value, and KING's Pass members saw £15.09. As with Steam, the featured offer carries a margin, so look at the other offers too. A Nintendo eShop card has to match the region of your Nintendo account, so check that the title says UK before paying.
Kinguin has a separate help category for Windows and Office, with descriptions of activation error codes such as 0xC004C008. That is a sign that activation problems are common enough to deserve their own documentation. If you are buying a Windows 10 key, check whether the offer is an OEM, retail or other type of licence, because that decides whether you can move it to another computer. We did not read a price for a Windows 10 key.
Windows 11 Professional OEM cost £22.00, and the page showed a reference price of £228.00, which implies a discount of roughly 90%. A reference price is a seller's claim, and it is hard to trust, since ordinary shops sell this system for much less than that. With a licence like this, a well-rated seller and a careful check of the licence type matter, because the gap between this price and the official store is large.
Region labels are in the title and description of the product, including EU, ROW, EMEA, LATAM and ASIA, as well as country labels. ROW usually covers most countries, but with exceptions. Products marked EU can also have exceptions, so always check the country list in the description.
On the homepage you will also see the word Global in product names. The help centre does not define that label in its article on regions, so do not assume Global means everywhere. Read the offer description.
Kinguin also sells ready-made accounts, marked ACCOUNT. That is not a key you enter on your own account, but login details for an account that already holds the game. The help centre advises that after receiving it you log in, change the password and email address to your own and turn on Steam Guard. Do not use such an account as your main one and do not make purchases on it.
With accounts, do not enter wrong details several times, because the account may lock. That is an additional risk compared with a key, so for most buyers a key is simpler.
In the official help centre we did not find a standalone article on buyer protection for all customers. The article on priority protection applies to KING's Pass subscribers. From the terms (an undated PDF, read through a tool's summary) it appears that the Buyer Protection fee is non-refundable except when a pre-order is cancelled, and that service fees are shown at checkout. We did not confirm the amount of the fee.
Outside sites describe Buyer Protection as a paid add-on with a 30-day reporting window. That comes from a coupon site, so it has low reliability, and we did not find it in the official help. Check the terms in your basket before you pay.
How reporting a problem works, we know from the official help:
The PDF terms also mention time windows: complaints within 3 months of the problem and refunds within 60 days of the transaction. We did not find them in the help centre, so treat them as information to confirm.
The help centre rules depend on whether you revealed the key.
Refunds go to Kinguin Balance by default, usually immediately or within a few hours. A refund to the original payment method needs a request, takes up to five working days and is only possible if you have not spent the Balance funds.
The official help lists PayPal, Klarna and crypto payments, as well as cards with 3D Secure authentication and Kinguin Balance. Which methods you see depends on the country in your billing details, the currency and the basket, and different products have different sets. We did not confirm the full list. The terms also mention paying with a Krowns token, but the help does not mention it, so we do not know whether it is current.
Kinguin Balance is the shop's internal currency, which you can pay with at no extra payment fee. If a payment fails, the Balance you spent returns automatically.
An account is not required. You can buy as a guest with just an email address, but there is an order value limit, fewer payment methods and possible unavailability in some categories or regions. You receive the key in a link in an email. A guest's orders appear after you register with the same address, and refunds then go to Balance.
An order can be held (the “On Hold” status, meaning paused for verification). The verification team contacts you through a ticket, and according to the help the verification is meant to be one-off with no data stored. We did not confirm the detailed requirements, because the articles in that category are image-based. The “Payment Reversed” status means a chargeback.
KING's Pass is Kinguin's paid subscription, billed every 30 days by PayPal or card, with no commitment period. It gives discount codes shown on product pages, plus, every 30 days, one of two things: a random PC key (KING's Gift) or a Kinguin Host game server, as well as priority support and weekly KING's Drop offers.
There are limits: normally 5 different products per month of subscription, up to 10 during promotions, one unit of a given product. Discounts do not combine with other promotions. You buy the subscription separately from products, not as a guest, and only in selected countries. We could not confirm the KING's Pass price in pounds, because the official page returned an access error.
Keys for pre-orders reach the buyer on the European release day, sometimes a day earlier, and at any point in the day, not necessarily at midnight. You cancel a pre-order in your orders panel, and according to the terms up to three days before release. The “Partially completed” status means exactly a pre-order.
Most ordinary products reach you within 5 minutes. Older purchases (over three months) move to the archive in Inventory, from which you restore them with one click.
You activate Steam keys as the help centre describes: first claim the key in your Kinguin account, then in the Steam client choose “Add a game”, then “Activate a product on Steam” and paste the key. Activate the key on the day of purchase, so any problem can be reported straight away. If a key does not work, check for typos, the region and the launcher, then write to support from the order page with a screenshot of the error.
Kinguin has around forty activation guides for other platforms, including GOG, Epic, EA, Battle.net, PSN, Xbox, Nintendo, Ubisoft and Rockstar.
Independent write-ups present G2A as a similar marketplace with similar controversies in the past. According to Digital Citizen, CDKeys works more like a direct shop with its own stock. An older 2021 test describes Eneba as a marketplace with seller verification. These are two sources of medium reliability, and one is out of date, so we draw no ranking from them.
What we did not check: competitors' prices on the same products. If you want to compare, do it on the same card on the same day.
In January 2015 Ubisoft deactivated some Far Cry 4 keys sold by unauthorised shops, which also affected Kinguin and G2A. Kinguin said at the time that the keys came from licensed wholesalers (DSOGaming). In 2017 the head of tinyBuild accused platforms such as Kinguin and G2A in general terms of making it easier to trade stolen keys, although the main dispute concerned G2A (PC Gamer). The studio 11 bit studios also sharply criticised a misleading Frostpunk 2 pre-order page, and Kinguin's acting chief apologised (TechRaptor).
We found no reliable source documenting a G2A campaign against Kinguin, so we do not write about it. These cases are old, and what happens today is visible more in customer reviews than in history.
