Nike x One Piece: the release calendar, four dates and three different routes

  • Three versions of the Nike Air Max Plus SP built around Devil Fruits, plus an apparel range

  • The rollout starts 4 September in Tokyo and ends with a global SNKRS launch on 25 September

  • Each pair sells differently: only Gomu Gomu reaches SNKRS, the other two go to selected retailers

  • London hosts one of the European pop-ups on 19 September, where the Ope Ope pair drops

  • Six UK retailers in the Soleback programme carry cashback of up to 5 percent

What is in the collection

At the centre sit three versions of the Nike Air Max Plus SP. Nike did not stop at recolouring: the upper was rebuilt for each Devil Fruit, with textured TPU elements made exclusively for this collaboration, contrasting tongues and laces. Each pair carries a Nike take on the Jolly Roger on the tongue.

  • Gomu Gomu no Mi, style code IR0968-500, in Space Purple / Atomic Green / Purple Venom / Altitude Green / Light Lemon Twist / Sport Red. Luffy's fruit, hence the purple and the rubber energy

  • Mera Mera no Mi, style code IW1283-800, in Brilliant Orange / Healing Jade / Kumquat / Vibrant Yellow / Solar Flare / Enamel Green. Ace's fruit, later Sabo's, meaning fire

  • Ope Ope no Mi, style code IW1282-600, in Very Berry / Green Quartz / Sport Red / Jade Aura / Fortress Green. Law's fruit, referencing the ROOM ability

The apparel runs alongside: T-shirts using actual manga panels reworked in the style of archive Nike ads, a Jolly Roger series, jerseys and caps colour-matched to each pair, and a vest referencing the Devil Fruit curse that leaves those who eat them unable to swim.

The project was led by dotSWOOSH, Nike's internal gaming culture team.

Three pairs, three different routes

This is the part worth understanding before release, because it departs from a normal collaboration.

Gomu Gomu is the only pair reaching SNKRS. In China, Mexico and Australia it is a standard app launch, and in South Korea it runs through Exclusive Access.

In the US, Japan and selected European countries the pair goes out as a pre-order, with access limited to a portion of app users.

Mera Mera does not appear on SNKRS at all. It goes exclusively to selected retailers, starting in Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Indonesia and Mexico.

Ope Ope also skips SNKRS. Pop-ups and selected retailers in the US and Europe are the only route.

The practical read cuts both ways. Mera Mera and Ope Ope require being at a pop-up or at a Nike-designated retailer, while Gomu Gomu is the only pair with a realistic shot at wider retail distribution.

The calendar, step by step

4 to 6 September, Tokyo. The first pop-up and the debut of the full footwear and apparel collection. In-store only.

12 September, Asia and Mexico. Mera Mera no Mi and selected apparel arrive at chosen retailers, including Hong Kong, Jakarta, Seoul, Shanghai, Taipei, Umeda and Mexico.

19 September, Europe and the US. Ope Ope no Mi and selected apparel. In Europe the pop-ups run in Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, London, Madrid, Milan and Stockholm, joined by US stops including Dallas, Decatur, Lawrenceville, San Diego and Washington DC.

25 September, global launch. Gomu Gomu no Mi and selected apparel from that line arrive on SNKRS worldwide.

16 to 18 October, Sydney. A separate event at Supply, with selected footwear and the apparel range.

Nike By You, the part you cannot buy online

A separate strand of the project is a limited-run Nike By You customisation, available in-store only and only at some of the pop-ups.

Nine original graphics inspired by the world of One Piece can be applied to selected Nike T-shirts. The graphics mix and match, so every shirt comes out different. In Japan, bookings are taken at designated stores from the first day of the event, first come first served, until slots run out.

Two caveats. The customisation covers apparel, not footwear, so there is no custom Air Max Plus here. And Nike states availability is limited by location, so it should not be assumed the option appears at every pop-up or in every region.

Where to look in the UK

London is on the 19 September pop-up list, which makes it the one direct route to the Ope Ope pair without leaving the country. It is worth watching Nike's channels for the exact address and format, since the Tokyo edition ran on a lottery system.

Beyond that, UK retailers are the second route to Gomu Gomu. Six of them sit in the Soleback programme:

Watch their new arrivals and upcoming releases pages. One caveat worth stating plainly: only the SNKRS colourway, meaning Gomu Gomu, is expected at these retailers. Mera Mera and Ope Ope travel a separate channel.

The click through Soleback needs to be the last one before the shop, and cashback lands after the returns window closes.

FAQ

When does Nike x One Piece release?

The first pop-up runs in Tokyo from 4 to 6 September 2026, with the global SNKRS launch on 25 September. Two regional dates sit between them: 12 September in Asia and Mexico, 19 September in Europe and the US.

Is there a UK pop-up?

Yes. London is among the European locations on 19 September, where the Ope Ope pair drops.

Which pair reaches SNKRS?

Only Gomu Gomu no Mi. Mera Mera and Ope Ope are available exclusively through selected retailers and pop-ups.

Will Mera Mera and Ope Ope appear at these retailers?

Do not count on it. Both pairs move through pop-ups and retailers designated by Nike on specific markets.

Will Nike By You be available in the UK?

Not confirmed. The customisation runs in-store at selected pop-ups only, and Nike has not published the list of participating locations. It covers apparel, not footwear.

How many pairs are in the collection?

Three versions of the Air Max Plus SP, plus apparel: T-shirts, jerseys, caps and a vest.

What happens next

The nearest date is 4 September and the Tokyo pop-up, after which the collection moves outward: 12 September in Asia and Mexico, 19 September in Europe and the US, and the global SNKRS launch on 25 September.

If you are chasing Ope Ope, the London pop-up on 19 September is the date that matters. If Gomu Gomu is the target, watch BSTN and the other Soleback retailers alongside the app, with cashback of up to 5 percent.
