This week's releases, 24 to 29 August: furry Saucony, Brain Dead Crocs and five Nike Mind 001s

24.08: Nike Tennis Classic "Chew Dog"

Style code JA8560-100, £99.95.

Nike is putting out a Tennis Classic that looks like a dog toy, which is exactly the point. A white upper with black dalmatian spotting, built in pony hair, with paw print motifs throughout.

This is a two-pair pack rather than a single silhouette. Alongside the dalmatian comes a black version, style code JA8560-001, closer to labrador or doberman coat. Both in unisex sizing.

The Tennis Classic itself, originally known as the Nike Wimbledon, gained traction in the eighties through John McEnroe. In 2026 Nike is clearly trying to turn it into its next Killshot 2, and "Chew Dog" is the most unhinged point in that campaign.

24.08: Nike Tennis Classic CS PRM Terry

Style code IR1114-300, £99.95.

Same silhouette, completely different register. Terrycloth taken from tournament towels runs across the entire upper here, in navy, yellow and graphite over bottle green. Underneath sits a herringbone gum sole, with an upgraded insole and a crest on the tongue.

This is the louder of the two pairs in the Terrycloth pack. The quieter one, style code IV1293-100, leads on smooth leather, with terrycloth appearing only on the Swoosh and heel overlay in an orange, green and blue pattern.

25.08: Brain Dead x Crocs, Echo II and Trailbreak 2

Style codes 213557-5EP and 212689-90H, £77.95 and around $120.

Brain Dead's first Crocs collaboration, shown earlier at an event in the Paris Marais during Fashion Week. Kyle Ng deliberately skipped the Classic Clog and went for two less obvious silhouettes.

Echo II gets graphics covering the entire upper, a silicone print on the heel strap and three-dimensional Jibbitz shaped like snails, where the shell is the Brain Dead logo. LiteRide cushioning underneath. The model comes in two colourways.

Trailbreak 2 goes technical: a mesh upper, translucent silicone overlays, a speckled rubber outsole and the first marbled EVA midsole in this silhouette's history. Colourway is Multi/Deep Green.

The references Brain Dead gives: landscapes under moonlight, wet stone, organic textures and forest floor.

One thing to check before buying. Most sources give 25 August for both pairs, but some calendars put Echo II on 28 August.

27.08: Nike Mind 001, five colourways

£79.99 per pair.

A reminder for anyone not following the line: the Mind 001 is not an ordinary mule. It is Nike's first neuroscience-led technology, meaning 22 foam nodes in the sole of each shoe, mapped to anatomical pressure points on the foot, intended to help with focus before training and with winding down afterwards.

The model debuted in January 2026 and quickly became one of Nike's loudest releases of the year. Every colourway sells out immediately, despite the brand saying it would increase availability. The pricier Mind 002 sits at £129.99.

Worth knowing on fit: the Mind 001 comes in full sizes only, so half sizes should round up.

28.08: Nike Sabrina 4 "Fuel"

Style code II0402-600, £119.99.

The colourway is Desert Pink / Lemon Venom / Pink Rise / Shadow Brown / Sail, meaning pink with yellow accents. Digital camo graphics run across the toe and lower side panels, while Lemon Venom shows up on the Swoosh, tongue, outsole and heel tab. A translucent outsole underneath.

The shoe first appeared at New York Liberty practices while Sabrina Ionescu was coming back from injury. The release was timed to back to school and the start of the basketball season, hence the parallel availability in kids' sizing.

The Sabrina 4 brings a TPU FlyPlate to the line, modelled on a sprinter's launch out of the blocks, plus an Air Zoom unit in the forefoot and full-length Cushlon 3.0 foam.

28.08: Westside Gunn x Saucony Grid Jazz 9 "Awesome Gods"

Style code S71047-5, $225.

The wildest release of the week by a distance. Westside Gunn's second Saucony collaboration, following the ProGrid Triumph 4 from December 2025, also carrying his Griselda x Fashion Rebels imprint.

The upper collides several faux animal furs at once: zebra, cheetah, cow and deer, plus a pattern best described as tie-dye of a species that does not exist. Large scorpion patches replace Saucony's usual side logo. The toe shifts into iridescence, the laces are leather in a moccasin style, and the interior is lined in leather.

The detail that matters: materials are cut differently for every pair, so no two shoes will be identical. The box has a mirror set into the lid and an ornate border on top, referencing the gilded frames Gunn regularly uses across his artwork.

Gunn names two inspirations outright: Jeremy Scott's work for adidas and Tokyo retailer atmos on the Nike Air Max, the two pillars of animal-print maximalism in sneaker history.

The date is not accidental either. 28 August is Westside Gunn Day, an official municipal holiday in Buffalo, New York, proclaimed by mayor Byron Brown in 2019. Sales run through Saucony's EQL raffle, blientele.com and selected retailers, in unisex sizing.

29.08: Bad Bunny x adidas F50 Ghost Sprint "Charcoal"

Style code HP4218, £139.

The series closes. After "Dark Marine", style code KI9450, and "Solar Slime", style code KI7711, comes the most restrained of the three: a dark brown and graphite mesh under a grey cage covering most of the shoe. Small dark red accents on the toe carry the words "adidas para Bad Bunny" and F50BB. Two sets of laces are included, and off-white on the outsole and sculpted heel provides the contrast.

The silhouette is a hybrid, taking its construction from the F50 football boot and its aesthetic from early 2000s running shoes.

A note on the date: some sources give only autumn 2026 for this pair without a specific day, so the timing is worth confirming with the retailer.

Pick of the week

If you are choosing one pair, "Awesome Gods" is the only release here that nobody else could have made, and with materials cut pair by pair every example looks different. If you want something to wear rather than shelve, the Tennis Classic Terry is the more sensible call.
