MediaWorld is the largest electronics chain in Italy, with more than 150 shops, and the thing worth knowing before you buy is that its returns policy is more generous than the law requires. According to the official pages read on 9 October 2026, you have 30 days instead of the 14 required by Italian and EU law to return an online purchase, and you can take it back free of charge to any shop. Now the less good news: the state-funded Bonus elettrodomestici (the government appliance bonus) is closed and a new edition for 2026 has not been approved, while the date of MediaWorld's Black Friday 2026 has not yet been announced.
In this guide you will find everything about the MediaWorld volantino (the promotional leaflet), Black Friday 2026, appliance bonuses, delivery, click and collect, returns, paying in instalments, warranty, the Carta MediaWorld CLUB (the store loyalty card) and collection of your old appliances. Where MediaWorld's own pages contradict each other, I say so.
One thing to know first: MediaWorld sells and delivers only in Italy and its prices are in euros. This guide is for you if you live in Italy or have an Italian delivery address, and all the amounts below stay in euros.
You will find more deals on electronics and home products on the Soleback promotions page.
MediaWorld has been in Italy since 1991, when it opened its first shop in Curno. Today it has more than 5,000 employees and over 150 shops, with its headquarters in Verano Brianza, in the province of Monza and Brianza, according to its "Chi siamo" (About us) page. When the company turned 35 in September 2026, ItaliaOggi reported 153 stores.
The company that runs the shop is Mediamarket S.p.A., part of MediaMarktSaturn Retail, a group with more than 1,000 shops in 13 countries and 22.4 billion euros in turnover in the 2024/2025 financial year, which is in turn controlled by the German group Ceconomy.
In December 2025 the Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com secured about 59.8 per cent of Ceconomy's capital through its public offer. The German government approved the deal with conditions in June 2026, and according to Reuters the European Commission is expected to decide by 4 November 2026. As of 9 October 2026 the acquisition does not appear to have been completed. For anyone buying from MediaWorld today nothing changes: terms of sale, returns and guarantees remain those of Mediamarket S.p.A.
On Trustpilot, mediaworld.it has a rating of 4.2 out of 5, "Molto buono" (Very good), with 67,697 reviews as of 9 October 2026. Of all reviews, 65 per cent give 5 stars and 22 per cent give one star, and MediaWorld has replied to 99 per cent of the negative reviews.
In the past there have also been two fines from the Autorità garante della concorrenza e del mercato (AGCM, the Italian competition and consumer protection authority) against Mediamarket S.p.A.:
In my research I found no AGCM fines between 2023 and 2026, but the search was not exhaustive.
The official volantino page says: "I nostri volantini validi in negozio e online" (Our leaflets, valid in shops and online). Leaflets usually last one or two weeks and overlap. Those active on 9 October 2026:
Some promotions, such as boosted trade-in valuations for your old device, are valid only in shops. You can browse the latest MediaWorld volantino online or in the app.
In Italy, a "sottocosto" (below cost) sale is regulated by Italian law and is different from ordinary discounts. Article 17-bis of the Codice del Consumo (the Italian Consumer Code), which requires the lowest price of the previous 30 days to be shown as the previous price, does not apply to below-cost sales. For all the other discounts in the volantino, however, the crossed-out price must be the lowest price charged in the 30 days before the reduction.
Black Friday 2026 falls on Friday 27 November and Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November. For now, MediaWorld's Black Friday page says: "Il Black Friday 2025 è terminato! In attesa delle offerte del Black Friday 2026" (Black Friday 2025 is over! Waiting for the Black Friday 2026 deals). The dates have not been announced yet.
To give you an idea, here is how it went in 2025 according to the press:
If the pattern repeats, the first MediaWorld Black Friday 2026 deals could start as early as the beginning of November. This is my own inference from 2025, not an announcement. Keep an eye on the MediaWorld Black Friday page.
Under the Codice del Consumo, every announced price reduction must show the previous price, meaning the lowest price charged in the 30 days before the discount. In campaigns with progressive discounts, such as Black Friday events run in episodes, the reference price remains the one before the first reduction. A practical trick: make a note today of the prices of the products you are interested in, so that at the end of November you can see whether the discount is real.
No. The Bonus elettrodomestici from the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy covered up to 30 per cent of the price, with a maximum of 100 euros per household, or 200 euros with an ISEE (the Italian household means-test indicator) below 25,000 euros. This is how it worked:
Applications opened on 18 November 2025, exceeded one million and were suspended on 31 December 2025. In July 2026 the ministry set 4 September 2026 as the deadline for reimbursements to retailers, and the bonus website now redirects to the app IO page listing discontinued features.
A new edition has not been approved. According to QuiFinanza on 30 September 2026, "al momento non c'è ancora una misura approvata" (at the moment there is still no approved measure), and the idea is being discussed for the 2027 Budget Law. Watch out for headlines: some articles use "bonus elettrodomestici 2026" for what is actually the Bonus mobili (the furniture bonus).
If you are renovating your home, the Bonus mobili ed elettrodomestici (the furniture and appliance tax deduction) from the Agenzia delle Entrate (the Italian Revenue Agency) is still available:
MediaWorld offers three levels of delivery:
Delivery times depend on the product:
The cost is not fixed: the price shown on the product page refers to Basic delivery and is calculated according to weight and size. I could not find a free delivery threshold on the official website.
If you live on one of the islands, there is a cost not to underestimate: delivery of heavy products carries a surcharge of 170 euros from the logistics operator. Since 22 September 2025, on the other hand, you can collect light products from InPost Points and Lockers within 5 working days, but without cash on delivery.
Click and collect is free, for up to 10 units per item. For products in stock you can collect "anche in 30 minuti" (even within 30 minutes), except for large appliances, air conditioners, TVs over 43 inches, pre-orders and new launches. If you paid online, you have 10 days to collect, otherwise the order is cancelled and refunded. If you pay in the shop, you have 5 calendar days.
For online purchases MediaWorld gives you 30 days from delivery or collection, instead of the 14 required by Italian and EU law. For non-bulky products you have three free options:
For bulky products home collection costs 20 euros, deducted from your refund, or you can ship the item at your own expense to the warehouse in Dueville, in the province of Vicenza. Uninstalling built-in appliances and disconnecting gas connections are your responsibility.
You cannot return sealed audio, video and software if you have opened them, sealed hygiene products that have been opened, made-to-measure products and services already carried out.
For purchases made in a shop you have "sempre 30 giorni" (always 30 days) to exchange the product or get a refund. Any return costs are paid by you. Gift Cards, top-ups, subscriptions, opened sealed software and books are excluded. GOLD members of the CLUB card have 45 days.
Online you can pay with Visa, Mastercard, Diners and American Express with no surcharge, or with PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, bank transfer within 10 days, Gift Card and the Carta MediaWorld Findomestic. In shops they accept cash, cards, bancomat (Italian debit cards) and Satispay.
For paying in instalments MediaWorld works exclusively with Findomestic:
The legal guarantee lasts 24 months for consumers. The 26 months you sometimes read about is the deadline for taking legal action, not the length of the cover. For businesses the guarantee is 12 months. Since 1 January 2026, products from MediaWorld's own brands PEAQ, KOENIC and OK come with an extra year of warranty.
MediaWorld Protegge (MediaWorld Protects) is a paid extension covering damage, theft and breakdowns, with repair within 7 working days or replacement. It must be bought together with the product. Prices are not published on the official page. Refurbished products also come with a 2-year legal guarantee.
MediaWorld collects your old appliance free of charge when you buy an equivalent new one, under the so-called "uno contro uno" (one for one) rule for RAEE, the Italian term for waste electrical and electronic equipment. Online you select "Ritiro usato" (old appliance collection) on the product page or in the basket. For heavy products the collection takes place on delivery, for the others within 30 days. You need to defrost the fridge and disconnect the appliances yourself. With "uno contro zero" (one for zero) you can drop off small appliances up to 25 cm in a shop for free, even without buying anything.
The CLUB card is free and reserved for adults. This is how it works, according to the regulations valid from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027:
The vouchers are not valid on refurbished products, marketplace items, insurance policies, Gift Cards and publishing products.
On MediaWorld people mostly search for air fryers, smartwatches, vacuum cleaners, washing machines, tumble dryers, fridges, fans, the Dyson Airwrap and AirPods 4. For large appliances such as washing machines, tumble dryers and fridges it pays to combine three advantages: free collection of your old appliance, Plus delivery to your floor and, if you meet the conditions, the Bonus mobili deduction. For small products such as an air fryer or a smartwatch, free click and collect saves you the delivery costs.
