One Piece Card Game cards with Nike trainers: where to buy and how to get them

  • Purchases from the Nike x One Piece collaboration come with exclusive One Piece Card Game cards

  • Nike has published a closed list of twenty stockists worldwide, six of them in Europe

  • Confirmed card distribution at the point of purchase applies only to the Tokyo pop-up

  • Outside Japan, Bandai and Nike refer only to Nike sales channels and tournaments, with no dates or rules

  • Offspring in London is the only UK stockist on Nike's list

What you can get

The set is called "ONE PIECE Card Game | Premium Card Collection: Nike Collaboration Edition" and covers four card types:

  • DON!! "Gomu Gomu", Luffy's fruit

  • DON!! "Mera Mera", the flame fruit

  • DON!! "Ope Ope", Trafalgar Law's fruit

  • Character Card P-099 Monkey D. Luffy, alternative artwork

The three DON!! cards correspond to the three Air Max Plus colourways, which ties the two halves of the project together.

Worth knowing if you play: the P-099 from this collaboration carries an identical effect to the previously released version of the card and differs only in artwork. It is purely a collector's item with no bearing on the game.

Where to buy the collection: the full stockist list

Nike published a closed list of partners in its press release. Each colourway goes to a different region, so the order matters.

4 to 6 September, Tokyo

Dr. B's RESEARCH LAB, a pop-up at THE HALL, Harajuku Quest B1F, Jingumae 1-13-14, Shibuya-ku. Open from 09:00 to 18:00, entry restricted to lottery winners, with entries having run from 23 to 26 August and now closed.

This is the only location with confirmed card distribution at the point of purchase.

12 September, Asia and Mexico

The Mera Mera pair goes to selected stores across Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Indonesia and Mexico:

  • Hong Kong: HBX

  • Hong Kong: NIKE LAB PS7

  • Jakarta: Invincible

  • Mexico City: Lust

  • Seoul: Worksout

  • Seoul: Tune

  • Shanghai: Nike Lab

  • Taipei: Phantaci

  • Umeda: Nike Umeda

19 September, Europe and the United States

The Ope Ope pair, style code IW1282-600, reaches eleven stores.

In Europe:

In the United States:

  • Dallas: Politics

  • Decatur, Georgia: Sole Play

  • Lawrenceville, Georgia: Sole Play

  • San Diego: Arts & Rec

  • Washington, D.C.: Somewhere

25 September, global launch

Nike SNKRS. The Gomu Gomu pair, style code IR0968-500, available on pre-order in the United States, Japan and selected European countries. Qualification runs through a poll and lottery in the SNKRS app, open until 18 September.

Each pair costs $180, or ¥27,500 including tax in Japan.

16 to 18 October, Australia

  • Sydney: Supply

What is not on the list

Worth saying plainly, because plenty of guesswork is circulating: BSTN is not a partner on this collaboration, and neither are Foot Locker, JD Sports or the other large chains. None of them appears on any list Nike has published.

For buyers in the UK the practical position is simple. Offspring in London is the only domestic stockist, and it sells from 19 September. If you miss that window, the routes left are SNKRS on 25 September or shipping from one of the five other European partners.

And the cards? This is where it gets complicated

The most important caveat in this whole piece: there is no confirmation that any European or American stockist will hand out cards.

Bandai and Nike refer only to two channels for the English-language versions: Nike sales channels and One Piece Card Game tournaments.

The phrase "Nike sales channels" most likely means SNKRS and the brand's own stores rather than external partners such as Patta or SNS. Bandai has given no dates, no rules and no indication of which specific cards will appear in the English versions. The wording used was "select cards", which suggests an incomplete set.

Until an official announcement lands, do not assume that buying the Ope Ope at Offspring or Afew comes with a card in the box.

Two Japanese routes that do work

Buying at the pop-up. One DON!! Gomu Gomu card per pair of shoes purchased. One P-099 Luffy card per transaction on apparel or caps, where the transaction counts rather than the number of items. Five T-shirts at once still means one card.

A Weekly Shonen Jump subscription. Clearly the better option. Subscribers to the digital edition can apply for the full set, which every applicant receives with no lottery involved:

  • ten DON!! "Gomu Gomu" cards

  • ten DON!! "Mera Mera" cards

  • ten DON!! "Ope Ope" cards

  • four "Monkey D. Luffy" Character Cards

That is 34 cards covering all four designs. By comparison, the pop-up yields a single card in one of two designs. There is one restriction: the offer applies to the Japanese digital subscription only.

What a UK buyer can realistically do

Buy the shoes. The simplest route is Offspring on 19 September, or SNKRS on 25 September with lottery registration by 18 September. Patta, SNS, Footdistrict and One Block Down also ship internationally.

Get cards through tournaments. This is the most promising channel because it does not require buying shoes. Bandai regularly distributes promotional cards through stores running official OPTCG play, so it is worth watching local card shops and the publisher's announcements.

Buy on the secondary market. Cards from the Japanese pop-up typically appear on eBay and Cardmarket within days of distribution. Prices are highest in the first week.

FAQ

How many cards are in this collaboration?

Four types: three DON!! cards matching the three shoe colourways, plus the P-099 Character Card featuring Luffy.

Does the P-099 card change anything in play?

No. It carries an identical effect to the previously released version and differs only in artwork.

Will I get a card if I buy the shoes in Europe?

That has not been confirmed. The only certain distribution at the point of purchase is the Tokyo pop-up.

Which UK stores are stocking the collection?

Offspring in London, from 19 September. It is the only UK stockist on Nike's list.

Which other European stores have it?

Patta in Amsterdam, Afew in Düsseldorf, Footdistrict in Madrid, One Block Down in Milan and SNS in Stockholm, all from 19 September.

How much do the shoes cost?

$180 a pair, or ¥27,500 including tax in Japan.

In summary

The collection is well planned but heavily scattered: three colourways, four dates and twenty stores across four continents. For a UK buyer the real routes to the shoes are Offspring on 19 September or SNKRS on 25 September.

The cards are a separate story and an unresolved one. Outside Japan no specific distribution point has been named. If the English versions genuinely enter tournament circulation, this becomes one of the more accessible collaborations of its kind. If they end up tied exclusively to Nike purchases, they join the list of Japanese exclusives Europe only ever sees at auction.
