Swiss watch brand Tendence is reissuing the watches that sold out eight years ago. Log Pose and East Blue return as a limited Batch N°2, with reservations opening 15 September and release on 16 October. Exactly five hundred will be made.

What this actually is

A misunderstanding needs clearing up first, because the name misleads.

Batch N°2 does not mean Tendence's second One Piece collaboration, but the second production run of the first one. There have been four collaborations since 2018, and it is the debut that is returning.

The original 2018 series comprised 250 Log Pose units and 250 East Blue. Batch N°2 keeps the total at five hundred but changes the split to 300 and 200. Added to that are Batch N°2 branding and refreshed sleeves.

Why these watches are unusual

The interesting part is that Tendence did not take the easy route.

Both models are built on the 50mm KingDome construction, with its distinctive domed crystal and moving dial. That allows the watches to mimic mechanics from the manga rather than simply printing character art onto a standard face.

Log Pose references the navigational instrument Nami wears on her wrist. Two things carried over: the domed silhouette and the compass dial, which genuinely rotates depending on how you hold your arm.

That is what separates this collection from ordinary licensed merchandise, and it explains why the first run sold out completely.

Price and run size

¥64,900 including tax, or ¥59,000 before tax.

One detail is worth noting: the pre-tax price is identical to 2018. After eight years, and given what has happened to production costs in the meantime, that is not an obvious decision.

A five-hundred-unit run worldwide is standard for this brand, but with One Piece's popularity it means a genuine scramble. Reservations run through 15 October, with shipping beginning the following day.

The problem for buyers here

Worth stating plainly, because most coverage skips it.

Sales run from Japan, through the Tendence store and forwarding services. The official reissue page lists the Japanese price and gives no European pricing.

For a buyer here that means three things. Shipping is added on top. A parcel from outside the EU attracts VAT, and duty above the value threshold for buyers on the continent. And warranty and any servicing operate on Japanese terms.

On a watch at this price those extras are not trivial, and they are worth calculating before placing a reservation rather than after.

How the other collaborations went

Context helps in judging whether this is the right one to chase.

First collection, 2018: Log Pose and East Blue, 250 units each, ¥59,000 before tax. Sold out. This is the one returning.

Third collection, 2022: two models, Luffy and Shanks, tied to One Piece Film Red. ¥49,500 each, in runs of 300 and 250, with a notebook as a purchase bonus.

Fourth collection, November 2025: ten models, one per Straw Hat crew member, built on the FLASH model with a built-in LED. Seven lighting colours plus a rainbow mode, at ¥45,100 each.

The fourth series is cheaper and more widely available, but it is the first that is regarded as the best designed, because the rotating dial references the story rather than just the characters.

How to improve your odds

Reserve on day one. Reservations run until 15 October, but with five hundred units worldwide the allocation may go considerably earlier.

Decide which model. Log Pose has 300 units, East Blue only 200, making the latter harder to land.

Calculate the final cost before reserving. The list price is not what you will pay on delivery.

Check your forwarding service. Some Japan-order retailers settle duty in the price, others leave it to the buyer on collection.
